Fire Family Intro

My introduction to the fire life began when I met my husband in 2017. Until we started dating, I hadn’t personally known anyone in the fire service. I had no idea what it meant to be in a relationship with a firefighter. Sure, I watched "Chicago Fire" and saw other media portrayals of them on the job (fun fact: my husband appeared as an extra in one episode before we met). Yet, I hadn’t grasped what their careers meant not only for themselves but for their wives and families. There are so many different aspects that impact our family life in both good ways and bad. I hope to share a glimpse of what it’s like to be married to a firefighter through my personal lens. One thing is clear, my husband absolutely LOVES being a fireman. And I am so proud to be married to a firefighter whose work is more his passion than a job.
